The Nepalese Women Global Network – California Chapter (“NWGN-CA,” “we,” “us”) is a non-profit organization based in the San Francisco Bay Area. This policy explains what information we collect through www.nwgnca.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us:
- Membership applications: full name, email address, phone number, mailing address and the membership plan you choose. We give each application a membership ID so we can keep track of it.
- Donation pledges: your name, email address and the amount you would like to give.
- Event updates & ticket requests: your email address, and for ticket requests your name, the event and number of tickets.
- Contact form: your name, email address and anything you write in your message.
- Event photos: photos taken at our events and shared in our gallery.
We do not take payments on this website and never ask for card or bank details through it (see Signups & email follow-up).
How we use your information
- To review membership applications and donation pledges and email you about next steps.
- To send receipts once a membership or donation is complete.
- To send event announcements and updates you asked for.
- To reply to your questions and provide member benefits, such as Lifetime member tickets.
- To keep records we are required to keep as a non-profit.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Signups & email follow-up
Signing up on this website does not charge you anything. When you send a membership application, donation pledge or ticket request:
- Your form is delivered to the NWGN-CA team by email (through Formspree). It is not stored on this website.
- A member of our team reviews it and emails you, usually within 2 business days, at the address you gave us.
- That email explains the next steps. If a payment is involved, it tells you how to pay, and you pay outside this website.
We use the email address you give us only to follow up on your request and, if you ask for them, to send event updates. Our emails always come from nwgnca2012@gmail.com. We will never ask for card numbers, bank passwords or security codes by email; if you get a message like that claiming to be from us, please do not reply and let us know.
We keep records of memberships and donations so we can send receipts and meet our tax and reporting obligations. We do not publish member or donor names or amounts without your permission.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run the website, and share only what each one needs:
- Formspree — delivers form submissions (membership, donation pledge, contact and event forms) to our email.
- GitHub Pages — hosts this website.
- Google Fonts — serves the fonts used on this site.
- Payment services — only when you choose to pay, using the method our team gives you.
We may also share information if required by law.
Cookies & tracking
Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. Because we do not track visitors, our site does not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
How long we keep it
We keep member and donor records for as long as we need them to run our programs and meet legal and tax requirements, then delete them securely. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see below).
Security
Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and does not collect payment details. Access to member and donor information is limited to board members who need it. No method of sending or storing data is 100% secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your information.
Your choices & rights
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time by replying to any message or contacting us.
- See, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing us.
- Photos: if you appear in a gallery photo and would like it removed, let us know and we will take it down.
Children
Our website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Effective” date at the top.
